After 35 years at the BBC, I have taken the step into the freelance world - something I have really enjoyed. Highlights of my responsibilities to date are many and varied.

They include:

Live studio transmissions:

• Saturday night prime-time shows, most recently 'The Voice', 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'So You Think You Can Dance', 'Maestro', 'Over the Rainbow' and 'Last Choir Standing'. Many of these were broadcast simultaneously on BBC One and in surround on BBC HD.
• Annual fund-raising programmes including 'Children in Need', 'Comic Relief ' and 'Sport Relief '.
• And perhaps the most demanding, the management and co-ordination of the BBC's 'Millennium Night Celebrations' - over 48hrs of live global television, incorporating Music Live’s 'Perfect Day'  transmission, which synchronised musicians from over 40 world-wide locations.

Recorded shows:

• 'Mock the Week', 'Tonight’s the Night' and ‘Parkinson'.

Outside Broadcast events:

• Various 'BAFTA' and 'Comedy Club' awards.
• 2005 'D-Day Anniversary' celebrations from Trafalgar Square.
• 2014 - BAFTA winning World War 1 Centenary commemoration from St Symphorien Cemetery, Mons.

Audio Post Production

• for many of my own, and other's, programmes.

Other Management responsibilities:

• 2005-2009. The re-design, specification and supervision of the sound installation in 4 of the BBC's TV studios at Television Centre, bringing the facilities into the 21st century - including full surround capabilities.
• Staff training in new desk, infrastructure and comms facilities and techniques.

Whilst based mostly in London, some of my programme making has taken me across the UK in both BBC and Independent studios.

In April 2014, I was proud to receive a BAFTA SPECIAL AWARD for being part of the creative team for '10 years of outstanding technical achievement' for Strictly Come Dancing.
